Houston Rockets 2024 Intro
This was one of my favorite projects to date. To kick off the 2024 season I directed our intro with a team of talented people around the country. We took our players through the first ever Houston Rockets space ship.
2024 City IntroThis was an extremely fun project, the goal was to make the fans feel that way as well. As an editor my goal was to bring the past and present players together. The Rockets are full of history and we hope it repeats itself with the new generation of talent. Here is my second city intro I have edited for the Rockets! This will take you back to the days in the Summit where we won back to back championships! Please note that the VFX were created from our team at the rockets, they were just my ideas.

More than Basketball
At the end of the day my job is to help bring in revenue to the company. My mission is always to disrupt the norm and have fun with it. Here are some projects I made to help sell our retail.

Being a Digital Producer in the NBAThis job has truly been a game changer for me. The creative freedoms and opportunities it has presented me in such little time has and will impact my career forever. I am so blessed and excited for what this journey holds. Venture throughout this page to relive my experience and travels with the legendary NBA, Houston Rockets. I now create content for millions of fans. We are the third most followed NBA team in the league, including the 8 million followers we have in China!

Channel 95Channel 95 is based off of the year the rockets won their second championship in a row. This years city campaign has been focus on the nostalgia of that era and hoping to make the fans "Believe it Again!" We brought in one of our favorite ambassadors, Paul Wall, to play as Paul Wallsters to hype up some of our city themed games.
This was a creation from our studio at the Rockets. We originally came up with "Paul Wallters' in our retail collection commercial and it got so much attention that we decided to capitalize on it. This edit was created by me and the VFX intro and tag was created by Ryan Hoeslinger. |

My perspective when traveling with the Rockets
Traveling with an NBA team is an absolute blessing. only a handful can say they do it. Therefore, it is imperative to give the world and fans a perspective like no other. Here are some edits that I filmed and edited in a 24hr duration. I challenged myself to stick to the basics of filmmaking and just let the action come to me.

Winning on the road
At the Rockets, it is not only important to create championship caliber content but also to be fast and efficient with producing it. A lot of the content is pushed fast and the turn around time can be literal hours. This piece is a prime example of that. I filmed and edited this all in a night and edited all the way until we landed back in Houston after the game so that our fans can enjoy when they wake up!

Jalen Green
This video is about Jalen Green's success in his 3rd season in the NBA. This is also the end of my 3rd season in the NBA filming and traveling for the Houston Rockets. I do an edit on players accomplishments at the end of every season and it has been so fun to grow alongside these awesome guys.
2024 Jalen Green is different. He is truly emerging into the star he was destined to be. Averaging 26.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and just 1.7 turnovers in the nine games this month while shooting 50.0% from the floor and 40.0% from 3-point range He was awarded NBA Western Conference Player of the Week this March of 2024. Watching and filming him has been extremely fun.

Storytelling
Here are two of our most recent storytelling pieces that our team has produced. I played a key role in the Directing, cinematography, and storyboard for the Fred Vanvleet story and was the main cinematographer for the Culture Shift project. These pieces were edited by Matt Michel and Ben Sledge

My Favorite Project EverIt's been about 1 year since the Rockets drafted Jalen Green and just about a year since they hired me. This project was a little sentimental to me because it put in perspective how much can change in a year and how much growth can happen if you put your head down and work. While scavenging for all my shots and assets I filmed of Jalen and the Rockets... during this project I could visually see that Jalen and I were getting more comfortable and growing in our careers as games went by. Here's my favorite shots and my deepest dive into After Effects in 2022. Thank you to every creator and person on here to inspire me and push me to try new edits, here’s what the past year of filming our new franchise player in our first NBA season looked and felt like.

Hyde Park x Houston RocketsSome of my favorite projects at the Rockets are the one's off the court. It is a way to express yourself artistically and challenge yourself to try new techniques. This project was a collaboration with Hyde Park who is a huge brand here in Houston, Texas that exclusively releases their merchandise. They are very experimental, therefore, that was my game plan going into the shoot!

The Beginning of my second NBA season...2022, My Second season opened up a whole new level of filming, I wanted to push the boundaries of hypes and bring in more elements outside of basketball.

The Hometown Heroes Intro
This was my most ambitious project to date, the amount of hands and that had touched on this piece was astonishing. It was a huge team effort to compile all of this together. There had to have been a total of 300 assets on this project. I had to be extremely tedious and organized while creating this. I filmed some highlights and edited this piece while on the road and at home during the beginning of the 2023 season. Shoutout to Shannon Chance and Terrance Daniels for directing this. Michael Canella and David for the motion graphics, and Adam Simmons/Cooper Ross/Matt Michel for some filming DOPE highlights.

2023-2024 Liftoff Intro CampaignThis project required all hands on deck. It required our entire studio to plan and execute this. This was edited by one of my great talented friends Ryan Hoelscher. I had the honor to film the in game highlights for this piece and help produce.

Studio Work
My third year with the Rockets I joined forces with a talented bunch of other creatives in our studio to increase the amount of creativity and potential of our department. Here are some projects that I helped shoot on! These pieces were edited by Ben Sledge and Michael Canella.

2023 Preseason IntroThis was the beginning of my third NBA season. I was tasked to film and edit this to hype up the fans for a new beginning of Rockets basketball. Every season the team goes to a remote area to practice and prepare for the week ahead of the new season and my job was to document and help share the first look of the new guys teaming up together.

A Story of FreedomWritten and performed by Avalon Hogans, this piece was one of my favorite pieces to date. It was a huge collaboration with Jordan Sennate on audio, Michael Canella on motion graphics, and Matt Michel on the edit. It was 100 degrees out and we trekked through Freedmen's town in the hot Texas summer to make a difference and tell a story of black Houston. This piece was a reminder that we have a voice and filming is a powerful tool to help raise awareness and perfectly tell a story. Freedmen's Town has a special place in my heart and every year I have the honor to volunteer and film there. (Produced in summer of 2023)

The Beginning, 2021
My first few games of the 2021 season with the Rockets were interesting, we went on a 15 game losing streak. We are the youngest team in the NBA therefore my goal as a producer was to market the adventure and the matchups for each game. And share the rookie feeling with our new players. I shot everything, from the nosebleeds to the floor seats all the way to the mountains and buildings in each city. I took all these elements and mashed our game highlights into the cities we were in. Metaphorically, it was our adventure to win and a journey through each city. I want to change the way teams market and tease their matchups other than stricly showing the sport because it's more than a sport, and each team has their own special culture.

Lights, Camera, ActionWe have a small tradition here at the Rockets... Our creative team likes to do a cool effect or "themed" piece for a special moment from a game. This play was one of Jalen Green's best dunk in his career. I was inspired to do an effect based off of the Oscars from the night before. Dune also just came out and that has been a cinematic inspiration for all creators. Therefore, here is my attempt at small small vex in after effects! (This took me about 3 1/2 hrs.)

The 2022/23 Schedule ReleaseTalk about an all hands on deck project... This one took everyone in the office. It brought everyone closer and challenged us as an organization. It also showed our relationship to one another and how closely all of the departments are and how understanding they are when requests and projects come in like this one. The project was inspired by the Office and the good old ESPN commercials. Shot by me and Cooper Ross and edited by Terrance Daniels.

Clear the Runway
This was one of my first big productions with the Rockets. It was a story about our franchise guy, Jalen Green. All of the footage from my first year travels with him and highlights from our team finally came together to tell a produced story about the new beginning of Rockets Basketball. Here is a massive team effort with many talented friends that we produced about Jalen's start in the NBA.

2023 NBA Dunk WeekA piece inspired by Oppenheimer and shoutout to the guys on the team who have the craziest highlights. Some footage in here has been shot by my talented coworkers Cooper Ross and Adam Simmons.

Hakeem & AlperenOne night during the season, Sengun notified the social team and I that he was having a secret practice with one of the most outstanding athletes to ever play the game, Hakeem “The Dream” Olajuwon. Therefore, we created a little social series with the content. It was extremely intimate, including only Hakeem, Sengun, his translator, our social team, and myself.
It was such a remarkable experience for all of us. We all learned so much and the night was full of knowledge and patience. This trailer I created was my first ever video to reach 1 million+ views on a social platform. On the Houston Rockets Twitter account it reached 1.3 million. It was a huge milestone for my career and reminded me why I do what I do. |

My job as a digital producer for the Rockets entails something new everyday. From commercial work to working with billionaire team owner Tilman Fertitta. Below are some pieces produced from me and the amazing production team we have

My role on gamedays
On game days, my job is to flip and edit highlights for social live time. The goal is to choose and edit a clip so it can go viral. I film the whole game but if something crazy happens I get up and run to my laptop to send a clip out to the social team roughly under 3 minutes. It is very tedious and timing is everything. Each game I shoot and edit about 7 highlights a game winning or losing. If we win, I put all the highlights from that game into a win recap for the next morning for the fans to enjoy on their morning feed scrolling. Here are some of my favorites so far from the first year... ( The KPJ dunk made it on ESPN Sportscaster top 10 the same night! You never know who's going to post your clips!

Warren Lotas X Houston Rockets
Along with filming and traveling with the team, my job entails marketing and events as well. It's more than a sport, it's a family and a culture. Therefore, I get to create projects like this. Warren Lotas is a famous fashion artist known for his unique skull drawings. Some of the top NBA teams recently collaborated with him to design new merchandise for collectors and fashion icons. The NBA is full of culture and personality, therefore, it was a no brainer to collaborate with the famous artist. This was one of my favorite pieces to shoot and edit.
|
Something New EverydayBeing a cinematographer/producer, you are tasked with many different projects from many departments and people. You never know who you are going to meet the next week. With this project I was tasked to tag along a 4 hour road trip to the hills in Texas to create a Whiskey drink with the states largest and first distillery. For this I filmed and edited a piece to help show our appreciation for the partnership.

The San Diego RocketsOur Hardwood Classic uniforms represent the beginning of a journey to greatness. The Houston Rockets weren't always in Houston... They began in San Diego. This video takes the fans on a journey from where this legendary franchise started. This project was all hands on deck. Edited by the amazing Terrance Daniels (my boss and mentor) and shot by me and the amazing Cooper Ross (my partner in crime) Narrated by Tobe Nwigwe.

24 hours in NYC
One of my most adventurous projects of 2022... The NBA Draft. It was in one of my favorite places to go film... New York City. The connections and people I meet every time I go help me grow more then I ever imagined. This day was a huge part in the new age of the young Houston Rockets.
Overcoming Music Rules
As many of you may know, the music industry has been cracking down on their rights. Therefore, everything I have to use as a creator to produce is copyright free and we have to search for hours to find the perfect song. Our marketing team, however, brainstormed how we could overcome this obstacle so that we have full control of our creativity again. We came up with Clutch City Beats, the city of Houston is full of talent and the artists here have a specific feel and style for their art and beats. We chose 5 producers out of nearly 200 to represent our in arena and digital audio. Here's one of the most unique projects I've done to this day. Shoutout Cooper Ross for camera B. The second piece is a music video with high profile rappers of Houston rapping to one of our chosen producer's beat! It was a unique and creative shoot, shoutout to everyone who helped!!

The beginning of year 3
My very talented coworker, Matt Michel, and I got to collaborate on this piece after the draft week. We filmed and edited in about a week. We split the edit down the middle as he went to the draft this year and I had the honor to film their arrivals! Here's what happens when you bring two creatives together! Perspective is everything.
BEAR BNB
Everyday is an adventure, and sometimes we get to collaborate with other teams! Here is one of my favorite pieces I've filmed. Shoutout to other mascot of the year, Clutch the Bear for this awesome concept. This video ended up winning NBA's best mascot video of the year in 2022!
Win Videos
Following a big win, my job is to film the whole game and recap the amazing night for everyone at home. I film and edit these in under 24 hours so that fans can wake up the next morning and watch a miniature movie of the win from the previous night.

Everyday is an AdventureMy job as a producer doesn’t only involve basketball. I am given the opportunity to film events and interviews with all kinds of different people. One night the team hosted Pride night, and we had an exclusive shirt that was being sold in the team shop where all the proceeds went to the community. Here’s a piece I captured and created to help promote!

Raw PracticeWorking for the team, sometimes you take raw moments for granted because you experience them everyday. This day in particular, was a great bonding day for the team. My first road trip with the team
Summer 2021 was my first experience on the road with the Houston Rockets. Adventure with me to Las Vegas, Nevada and watch the history we made. Here is my first mini doc I made from the experience!
NBA Handles WeekOne month, the NBA hosted themed weeks on social media for highlights from each team. I wanted to try something new and challenge myself. The coolest thing with working and editing with the Rockets brand is that we can play with space. Space is the most intriguing thing in the world and I always want to bring the viewer to another world. This video has footage from both my boss Terránce and I and broadcast.

H Town Frames
Houston is one of the most unique cities in the nation. It is the fourth largest city in the United states with tons of different mini communities hidden in the giant concrete jungle. It's full of loyalty and creativity. Each community has something to offer visually. H Town is definitely worth a visit. Ps they have 11,000 restaurants here.
|
May the Fourth be with youStar Wars is a huge inspiration of mine in the film industry. The one of a kind story telling and character development is unmatched. George Lucas is a legend for being persistent on pursuing his wild ideas and bringing them to life, and that is exactly what inspires me to grow. This was my second project ever with the Rockets!
|
713 DAYMy new home. 713, Houston. One of the first area codes in the USA. Houston natives bleed H town. The culture here is like no other. Everyone represents this place as their home and they are proud of what they have created. I highly recommend coming to visit this insanely diverse and fun city. (This video has footage from both my boss Terránce and I and broadcast.)

Clyde the GlideThis edit was made to look back on the legacy Clyde Drexler left with Houston as they won their second championship for his birthday! For this edit I challenged myself to rotoscope 480p film footage.

Top Dunks of 2021This piece was about some of the best dunks of the 20-21 season! It was one of the first videos i. ever edited with Houston. I hadn't filmed anything quite yet because the season had just ended so I was able to learn the history and the vibe of the team through this piece. (This video has footage from both my boss Terránce and I and broadcast.)
