BUCCANEERS

The internship of a lifetime

In January, 2020, I was offered an internship by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It has been quite an adventure and I have learned so much about the industry. Throughout my adventurous internship I have been a part of a brand transformation, legendary offseason signings, a world pandemic working at home, and winning a Super Bowl. It has been an internship for the books, I have been so honored to work for this organization. My role throughout this time has been to produce, edit, and shoot pieces for the Buccaneers. Below, you can venture throughout to see some of my favorite and most memorable projects during my time with the Bucs. (Please be informed that some edits consist of footage shot by our production team.)

The Playoff Campaign

Wow... we won the Super Bowl. The Buccaneers are the first ever team to play and win a Super Bowl in their own stadium. This team is special from the inside-out. During the playoffs I have worked on our Insider shows, The Bruce Arians show, highlight packages, tune in highlights, filming events/Super Bowl, and more! These gave me an opportunity to use outside resources and play off of the hype around our team. I am so blessed and this past week of the season has truly showed me anything is possible. Keep working hard.

Super Bowl LV

During the Super Bowl, I ran an akimbo set up. I filmed and photographed everything I possibly could with my monopod A7S and 300mm Canon 6d MKii.  I walked 18 miles and 34,000 steps and captured everything my eyes saw that day like it was my last. Here are some photos I shot on the side.

Behind the Bucs Uniforms

At the beginning of my internship, I got to be a big part of our secret uniform reveal. We planned and thought of tons of ideas how we wanted to produce this piece, we hyped it up and teased it for months and had the fans at the edge of their seats. On shoot day, my role was to help set up and shoot behind the scenes. It was my first time working with the players and it helped push me to the next step of my career here.

Bucs vs. Lions Game Trailer

This was my biggest task as an intern yet. My job was to create a game trailer for the Bucs vs. Lions game on December 26th, 2020. This game was huge for us. If we won, we would clinch the playoffs for the first time in 13 years. My mission was to create an overwhelming and balanced, sense of audio of the voices from the outside world.

NFL Robert DuBoise story

During Monday Night Football one of my tasks was to film the experience of Robert Duboise at the game. DuBoise’s story is insane. He was in prison for 37 years for wrongful conviction, and was just released back into the world of 2020 in August. While filming this segment, I kept thinking to myself, life is short and the memories we create in our lifetime should not be taken for granted or forgotten because some people unfortunately will never get to experience half the things we’ve been able to do. Feel things to the fullest and experience them like you will never experience them again. Go check out some of the shots and interview I captured of his Monday night football experience on Good Morning America and the NFL Media Original's Documentary. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJgzc4he7Sw

The NFL Draft

The 2020 NFL Draft was my first experience of a big season event. It was a true test to see what I could bring to the table. As a creative team, we merged our brand with the NFL draft branding and created mini segments that we would post for our picks. My role was to find a players best play from college and create a powerful and exciting end slate.

Touchdown Tuesday

Touchdown Tuesday has been my favorite segment to produce. It's a weekly edit that I have came up with and pursued throughout a year. It's my baby and It's something new every week. It has been a great way to try new editing techniques and bring something new to the table for the brand. Go check out more at the bottom of this page!

Buccaneers Halloween

This season, our defense has been looking like it did when we won the Super Bowl. One day while editing my usal Press Conferences, Todd Bowles the defensive coordinator started laughing so much. The team and I decided we could use it for something, Halloween was right around the corner...

National Creamsicle Day

An edit made to honor our legendary creamsicle throwback jerseys. (Shoutout James Pawelczyk for the cool graphic card.)

Jr Bucs Game Trailers

Throughout the 2020 season one of my editing roles was to prepare all of the schools in the area for gameday. I created a trailer to hype up the kids every Friday for all of the schools around the county. They would send me all of their exciting videos and pictures as the celebrate for the weekend to come and I would put them in the videos so they would see themselves! Every week I would get more and more submissions and it truly motivated me to keep creating for our fan base, it reminded me why I do what I do, so, here are my favorites below!

Thank you Essential Workers

This piece was an absolute honor to be a part of. Caitlin Peterson, head of BucVision, created/edited this piece and and brought me along to film! Our team and I traveled to multiple locations to surprise essential workers and film their reactions. My role on this piece was a camera operator designated to film closeups, reactions, and the energy.

Glazer Vision Foundation

The Glazer Vision Foundation is a foundation founded and run by the Glazer family. The Glazer family owns the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Manchester United Soccer Club. The foundation provides glasses for children in need of them. Their bus travels throughout the state and helps schools and people see life fully. This piece (shot and edited by me) shows the experience of one of their amazing visits.

Jr Bucs Game Trailer

Throughout the 2020 season one of my editing jobs was to prepare all of the schools in the area for gameday. I created a trailer to hype up the kids every Friday! Week 1 Carolina Panthers.

Turkey Time with the O-line

Turkey time with the O-line is a charity event hosted by the Buccaneers where the O-line and the staff partner up with Publix and Feeding Tampa Bay to feed hundreds of families!

Tom Brady Slice

Slice is a documentary piece, lead by our team reporter Casey Phillips. We sit down and talk to our players and learn the back stories off the field. Here is one of my favorites from the franchise with Tom Brady.

Bucs Beat

Bucs Beat is a segment I create every week to share our main news headlines. It is a franchise piece that has partnered with AdventHealth. The edit is created in After Effects and Premiere.

Uniform Schedule Reveal

During my time with the Bucs I have put myself in positions to grow as an editor. I started attempting to take on the beast of animation. After Effects is a huge skill needed in everyday editing, therefore, I wanted to grow my knowledge with it. After a significant amount of after effects, I decided to pursue this concept entirely in animation. I collaborated with our team photographer, Kyle Zedaker, and graphic design intern, James Pawelczyk, to give me some puzzle pieces to bring it to life.

Bucs Win

These are segments I create when the Bucs Win! It's a recap of all of the highlights when we brought home the bacon. Also, shout out James Pawelczyk for the cutouts on the strobe edit.

Camp Cam

Camp Cam was a blast. The idea behind this segment started because of the COVID rules and regulations. Our team had to think and act fast becasue we weren't able to film and be near the players during training camp. Therefore, everyday after practice we gave the players a topic to talk/act on a white board with a GoPro attatched to the top. We got some of our favorite reactions from this and it proves that you can create content out of anything.

Cheerleading Bloopers

Throughout my internship, I also had to produce for our wonderful cheerleaders. They are full of personaility and it made my editing process so fun. It was a great opportunity to switch up tones and moods in my editing process. Here's one of my favorite videos I produced for them.

The Bruce Arians Show

The Bruce Arians show is a one on one segment with Casey Phillips and Bruce Arians post game. I jumped on this franchise throughout the playoffs! The show explains first hand, Arians' thoughts and views on his coaching plans for the next matchup.

Antoine Community Service Project

This was quite the project, our film team was not allowed to film this event/project because of COVID reasons that we needed to overcome. We were given iphone footage to compensate and have coverage of the action. This piece was quite important to me and our team because it pushed us to make something out of nothing. At the end of the day, the story and purpose in the videos I produce matters most. Quality is crucial but at the same time, you can add quality to a simple iphone video by multiple elements like here. The cool part is that we wrote our story as well in a straight to the point way with a little punchline at the end.

#SlowMoSaturday

At the Bucs, I am constantly trying to think of new weekly segments we can create that have a little production value to them. Therefore, me and the team joined the trend of #SlowMoSaturday, we wanted to focus on the cinema and freezing time with this and add our own little style to it, so we went with a Lo-fi vibe.
